characteristic
1. Mechanical strength improvement: After the PPS material is reinforced by adding glass fiber or other inorganic fillers, its mechanical strength is significantly improved. The tensile strength and bending strength are better than other engineering plastics such as PA, PC, PBT, etc. In addition, the enhanced PPS also exhibits excellent rigidity and creep resistance.
2. High temperature resistance: PPS material itself has high heat resistance. Unmodified PPS undergoes crystallization and exothermic heat at 125°C, and the crystallinity of the fiber after stretching can be increased to 30%-60%. Through heat treatment, the crystallinity can be further increased to 60%-80%, thereby maintaining stability at high temperatures. The enhanced PPS can remain stable at high temperatures above 430-460℃, and the thermal deformation temperature is as high as 260℃.
3. Chemical corrosion resistance: PPS performs excellently on most acids, esters, ketones, phenols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons, but has poor stability on some oxidative acids, oxidants, concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid. The enhanced PPS is insoluble in any organic solvent below 200°C and exhibits excellent chemical corrosion resistance.
4. Thermal stability: PPS is a crystalline polymer with a maximum crystallinity of up to 65%, a crystallization temperature of 127℃ and a melting point of 286℃. In air, PPS can remain stable at high temperatures above 430-460°C, showing excellent thermal stability.
